FLL Qualifier Tournament

The FIRST LEGO League (FLL) is an international competition for 9 to 14 year olds. The ultimate goal of FIRST programs is to help young people discover the excitement and rewards of science, technology, and engineering.

Everyone is welcome to attend this competition as audience.

Each year FLL teams embark on an adventurous Challenge based on current, real-world issues developed by FIRST and experts in the fields of science and engineering. Guided by a team coach and assisted by mentors, the kids:

  • Research and solve a real-world problem
    based on the Challenge theme
  • Build an autonomous LEGO Mindstorms
    robot using engineering concepts
  • Present their research and solutions

In the 2012 “Senior Solutions” season, FLL will reach an estimated 205,000 kids in more than 60 countries around the globe. In Northern California, between 2004 and 2012, we increased from 144 to 470 teams! We are planning for ~500 FLL teams for the 2013 season. At our event 16 local teams will be competing.
