If you are interested in joining Aviation Explorer Post #997, you are welcome to attend these meetings. Visit our website for additional info – Post997.org
Existing Explorer Post members do not need to RSVP to this Meetup. Visitors are encouraged to RSVP since we meet at different locations at the airport. You might not find us without prior contact.
Our meetings vary between lectures, presentation, tours and hands-on projects.
We have a number of hands-on building projects underway. We will be starting with some basic sheetmetal skills and work our way up to building a Sonex-A kit airplane. Fuselage. Wings. Empennage. Landing gear. Avionics. Engine.

Note that it is an FAA federal offense to drive a vehicle on parts of the airport grounds (inside the fence line) without proper authorization. So, NEVER tailgate another vehicle through the gate in the fence line. Instead, park only in public areas outside the secure fence line.
Depending upon where we meet on the airport grounds, we will provide additional parking details each time we meet. Here are our two most common meeting places:
Five Rivers Aviation – If we’re meeting at Five Rivers Aviation, they have their own parking lot. Park anywhere and walk into their terminal. We’ll be meeting in their multi-purpose room or in their hangar.
Explorer Post Hangar – Park in front of the business addresses 180 through 186 Airway Blvd. Call Tom Manger on his cell and he will let you through the vehicle gate located next to Adamson Police Products at 160 Airway Blvd. (Do not park against the Adamson building!)
