Come any time between noon and 4pm to help out. We have a long list of (mostly small) tasks. Tackle whatever tasks fit your abilities and your available time window.
We are making fast work of getting moved into our new hangar space. We’re looking for some help with a number of items such as setting up a flight simulator, rebuilding some laptops then loading Autodesk CAD software, assemble a workbench, hang some sectional charts, hang a curtain (on our one window!), build a launcher for compressed air rockets, etc. Plenty to do.
We now have a refrigerator. So, I will have waters and a few munchies available. If I can get permission from the airport, I’ll get a gas BBQ set up so that we can make hamburgers & hotdogs for some more substantial fare. Yes, someone will get recruited to so some cooking!
We’re still getting settled in the space & getting used to working in a restricted area. So, please, have patience with us as we work out details in terms of keeping everyone comfortable & getting everyone in and out of the secure gate.
Unless an official member of our Aviation Explorer Post, all youth must be accompanied by an adult. You will be entering the secure area of the airport. Unauthorized vehicles are not allowed. This is a active working airport. Small planes with their props spinning pass within feet of our hangar throughout the day. So, only youth of sufficient maturity – and with sufficient understanding of safety issues – should be brought to the airport.
