Robot Garden is a Livermore-based makerspace (community workshop) focused on all things robotic. As a makers community we are playing an important role creating more opportunities for innovation, workforce development, entrepreneurship, and advanced manufacturing in our region. While we provide workshops that enables the fabrication of prototypes (using 3D printer, laser cutters, mills, electronics tools, etc). We also have development gurus that are leading our community growing advanced robotic applications. Our primary goal is the evolution of robotics to spur technology innovations and sustainable environments.
Our current near term goal is the development of navigation robots to compete in the 13th annual Robogames being held Apr 21-23, 2017 at the Pleasanton Fairgrounds. Robot Garden will have several member teams participating in the competition to navigate the RoboMagellan obstacles course with a fully autonomous robot. The RG Magellan teams has been working for over three months designing their robots and hacking advance electronic components to develop the necessary sophisticated systems needed for the RoboMagellan competition.
The next areas we plan to pursue are in underwater robots, aviation drones and aquaculture/agriculture robotics. As we work to define our future efforts we are seeking interested members to join our teams and help develop the critical mass of talent needed to get our projects moving and delivering on our community robotics leadership goals. Each team will need to develop their target goals and will be guided through the development of an advanced robotics project build by one of Robot Gardens project managers. Please join us and learn how to grow a robot. #GrowARobot
